Crops & Farming Systems
Nursery Site Preparation
Nursery sites often combine growing areas with intensive access and irrigation infrastructure. Different zones can require different soil, drainage and traffic surfaces.

Plan the surface handover
BeforeMap growing beds, service corridors and vehicle routes.
Work stageForm each zone to its intended use and keep structural fill separate from growing medium.
AfterInstall irrigation, growing systems and the selected surfacing.
What to verify
Check thresholds, crossings and low points between zones.
Field formation precedes the crop-specific seedbed or bed-making operation. Protect productive soil, check the whole water route and coordinate headlands with machinery access. A before-and-after photograph can show shape, but does not establish a crop or irrigation benefit without appropriate observations.
Scope and limits
A single flat plane may be inappropriate across the whole nursery.
Continue the job brief
Include the location, existing condition, intended surface, material, available tractor and proposed dates.
