Potato Field Preparation
Potato-field preparation combines drainage, traffic access and a suitable growing layer before ridges are formed. Broad grade defects should not be hidden by individual ridge construction.

Plan the surface handover
BeforeIdentify the planned row layout and persistent wet areas.
Work stageMove suitable soil to correct the confirmed surface defect while preserving the productive layer.
AfterForm ridges and prepare the crop using the chosen agricultural system.
What to verify
Check drainage beyond the ridge ends.
Field formation precedes the crop-specific seedbed or bed-making operation. Protect productive soil, check the whole water route and coordinate headlands with machinery access. A before-and-after photograph can show shape, but does not establish a crop or irrigation benefit without appropriate observations.
Scope and limits
A scraper is a broad surface tool, not a potato planting or harvesting implement.
