How to Compare Grader Scraper Productivity Fairly
A competitor comparison is strongest when the machines are compared using the same job, measurement boundaries and operating assumptions.
Compare the complete system
Record scraper capacity and mass, tractor size, tractor fuel, hydraulic requirements, average haul, material type, moisture, cycle time, measured volume moved and the quality of the required finished result.
Avoid unsupported claims
Dugong should not claim that another machine cannot match a result unless comparable evidence supports that conclusion. The stronger approach is to publish the measurement method and allow verified results to show the difference.
Design envelope belongs in the comparison
A larger machine with a larger tractor and different hydraulic architecture is not necessarily a like-for-like comparison with a small-tractor implementation. Compare the resources required to complete the same useful area-management task.
Operating-data qualification
The figures on this page are worked examples based on the stated baseline assumptions, not guaranteed production or fuel-consumption figures. Actual results vary with tractor, soil and material, moisture, loading efficiency, haul distance, grade, traffic, operator, weather and site conditions. Measure the actual job before making a commercial decision.
