Haul Distance and Productivity
Production should always be tied to the haul and operating cycle used to produce the estimate.
Reference scenario
The current worked baseline uses approximately 20 loads/hour at 7 km/h, with an approximately 280 m haul, producing the planning baseline of about 10 m³/hour.
Do not extrapolate blindly
Longer haul distances generally consume more cycle time. Shorter hauls may improve cycle frequency, while loading difficulty, turning, dumping, spreading and field layout can offset that advantage.
Better estimating
For a real rental decision, estimate cut and fill, likely average haul, loading conditions and operating cycle first. Then use actual field observations to replace the planning assumptions.
Operating-data qualification
The figures on this page are worked examples based on the stated baseline assumptions, not guaranteed production or fuel-consumption figures. Actual results vary with tractor, soil and material, moisture, loading efficiency, haul distance, grade, traffic, operator, weather and site conditions. Measure the actual job before making a commercial decision.
